Proteins are so important for the structures of our body; they intervene in processes such as metabolism and hormone segregation. They play also a key part in the formation of muscle mass since they help repair muscles after exercise.

    Hi Barbara,

Thanks for writing this exceptional recipes idea. I am not expert on this. But my mother always loves to make new recipes of juice and drink shake. I believe she will be interested on this. I need this type of protein smoothie recipes when I do yoga. I am going to share it with my mother so that she can help me on this. Thanks for sharing.

I am sure anyone can benefit from these three high protein smoothies recipes you shared. I am not an athlete but I am going to try them out one by one. I work very hard and experience low energy level during the day, so my body will certainly need these recipes. I am not used to these vegan recipes but would love to first try out the oat and quinoa smoothie since I already have the ingredients at home. The process of preparation is so easy to follow and would take less than an hour. Is it ok to refrigerate the drink before consumption or does this affect the nutritional value?

    • Barbara S. says:

You can put it in the fridge but I would not keep it there overnight. Even though it is still good and full of nutrients I always find the Smoothies better taken as soon as they have been made.

Thanks for making this interesting review, Protein shakes are easy enough for vegetarians to whip up, but if you’re vegan and you want a protein-packed smoothie after a workout or for a hearty breakfast, I guess the Vegan Smoothie with Soy Milk, Oatmeal and Chia would be my best take with easy method of preparation.

Thanks for the good smoothie recipes that are suitable for vegan diets. I will try all of these. I have one favorite recipe that is also suitable for vegans:

    1/2 cup blueberries

    1/4 cup almonds

    2 1/2 cup almond milk

    1 teaspoon vanilla sugar

Soak almonds in water couple of hours. Put them in the blender. Add blueberries, almond milk and vanilla sugar. Mix all ingredients until the mixture is sleek.

I absolutely love a good smoothie and have recently been on a kick. I usually use them as a post-workout drink for the same reasons you give. Mine are high protein and I have definitely seen the results by drinking them. I do, however, get stuck in a rut sometimes and only have one go-to recipe, so these ideas are really helpful!

I personally like to use milk in my smoothies instead of water as I think it makes for a richer, more satisfying drink, especially because I’m usually replacing a meal with one.

Thanks so much for putting these recipes out there and giving me some new ideas!

Those look so delicious. I would love to taste one of those. Thank you for sharing your delicious vegan smoothie  recipes with us. I love the high fiber high protein nature of the quinoa and oatmeal in the smoothie as this provides your body with needed protein and daily fiber. I love the recipes and will try it out though I have been using oatmeal and some other ingredients but never added quinoa to my smoothie. I will try it and see how it tastes. Thanks for sharing.

Oh these look delicious.  I love quinoa and it has so much protein!  So much better than rice or pasta in many of my recipes, but I’ve never actually tried it in a smoothie.  Interesting!

I don’t do soy.  I’ve heard so many bad things about it, so I avoid it, but I would just substitute the soy milk with my favorite superfood coconut milk.  I use it in most of my smoothies, and I was happy to see my other favorite superfood chia seeds!  Awesome!

    Great site, so much information!
