Healthy Smoothies To Lose Weight The Vegan Way

I have been sharing with you many Smoothies Recipes for kids, and adults and athletes, and today I feel I should talk about a topic that is very close to my heart….actually my weight…and why not share with you some great recipes for healthy smoothies to lose weight, stay fit and even detoxify your body.

When is the worst time to eat?

You’ve always heard that dinner is one of the meals of the day that has to be light and healthy, ( my mom always used to say it to me…she knew I loved eating at night).

And we know that dinner time meal should not contain fats or an excess of sugar. This is because at night our body does not burn as many calories as we do during the day so it is not a good idea to eat rich and heavy meals just before we are going to bed.

The green shakes that today I will share with you, not only will help you lose weight and are a good substitute for dinner but they can also detoxify your body while you sleep.

First of all, you have to know that to follow a detox diet and lose weight, you must have some rules to follow even though no one really likes to do that ( I am the first to say I am very bad in following any type of regime).

The Rules

Still, if we want to see some results, some discipline needs to be applied:

  • Throughout the day you must eat healthily. It is useless to have a diet based on saturated fats (cakes, potatoes, ice creams, fried stuff) and then take a shake for dinner thinking it will work.
  • Practice a little exercise regularly. With walking or running for half an hour or an hour you have enough.
  • And finally, hydrate your body constantly, drinking between six and eight glasses of water a day. Follow these tips and, as the days go by, you will find yourself better and more willing to lose those extra pounds. Also, your health will thank you.

Now that you are clear about these three small guidelines, we can have a look and see what are the best smoothies recipes that you can have for dinner and will help you feel great, healthy and lose weight at the same time.

The good thing about these fruits and vegetables is that they will satisfy you throughout the night, they are an excellent substitute for your usual dinner and, what is more important, you will not go hungry until breakfast time.

Grapefruit, Apple and Kale Energy Smoothie

Ingredient:

  • 1 yellow grapefruit
  • 1 Granny Smith apple
  • 2 handfuls of kale
  • 1 piece of ginger
  • 5 mint leaves
  • 200 ml of water (a large glass)

Preparation:

Wash the apple, kale and mint leaves. Peel the apple (if it is not organic and eliminates the heart).

Chop up all the food and add them to your Nutribullet or any blender you are using.

Squeeze a grapefruit and pour the juice obtained into the blender.

Beat until you get the desired texture. If you like it more liquid, add more water. You can also add ice to take it cool.

This smoothie is an authentic explosion of vitamin C for your body, promotes the health of the immune system, is satiating and is an excellent regulator of digestion.

It is an ideal smoothie to have for dinner especially when you feel very tired from work, as it has an energizing effect for your body

Broccoli and watermelon smoothie

Ingredients

  • 4 broccoli florets
  • 250 grams of watermelon
  • 3 radishes
  • 150 ml of coconut water

Preparation

Wash the radishes and broccoli. Peel the watermelon.

Chop all the ingredients and add them to the blender next to the coconut water.

Beat until you get the desired consistency.

You can replace the coconut water with normal water (if so, sweeten it with a spoonful of agave).

This smoothie is full of vitamins and will help strengthen the cardiovascular system.

In addition, broccoli is low in calories and sugar and contains compounds that help rapidly digest sugar inside the cell walls. It is also a good appetite suppressant, so you will not go hungry.

Pineapple, Spinach, and Celery Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 branch of celery
  • 2 handfuls of spinach
  • A few sprigs of parsley
  • 2 slices of natural pineapple
  • 150 ml of water

Preparation

Wash the parsley, celery, and spinach.

Peel the pineapple.

Chop up all the food and add it to your blender.

Beat until you get the right texture. Add ice or very cold water to drink it very well.

Properties of spinach, celery, and pineapple

This smoothie is loaded with antioxidants, it is rejuvenating, full of vitamins and anti-inflammatory. The best of the best!

You have to know, that spinach is full of iron and excellent against fatigue. In addition, they are loaded with antioxidants and will fill you up and kill your hunger

Celery is a vegetable that has very few calories (only 15 calories per 100 grams), so it’s excellent when you are trying to lose weight. In addition, it is a very satiating and diuretic plant (especially the stem).

Finally, pineapple is a fruit that has infinite slimming properties. Its main component is bromelain, which is a substance that helps you eliminate fluid retention, among many other things. In addition, the pineapple is composed of 85% water and is a fruit with very few calories (only 60 calories per 100 grams).

    I love smoothies, especially the ones made with full and full natural organic stuff. Out of all the smoothies you have listed in your site I really like the Grapefruit, Apple and Kale Energy Smoothie. Even when I go out I always get the Kale smoothie, because I know how healthy it is.

    I like your site because the recipes you give are delicious. Even a child will love to drink this. The first time I ever took a smoothie, it was only veggies and very green. There was no fruit to sweeten it and I regretted taking it. However your recipes are sweet in a good way, I can see apples, watermelon and even pineapples. Sure has to taste great.     Weight loss is the biggest challenge for many. Almost I need to follow all the rules you mentioned and drinking more water is always on my list and while reading your rules immediately I taken a glass of water. And my wife said you will do it while reading later you won’t do it Lol.

    Thanks for the great recipes. I used to be really into juicing and smoothies but I let myself get out of it. These reminded me how enjoyable it was and gave me some motivation to get back into it. I particularly enjoy the combination of apple and kale but I never tried it with grapefruit. Sounds delicious.     I so much love smoothies. I make pineapple and Watermelon smoothies. I drink it for fun, I don’t really taken note of the medicinal values. 

    Now I can see how several smoothies have great medicinal value coupled with their great taste. I will definitely try the Pineapple, Spinach, and Celery Smoothie. I exercise much so I’ll make them for my mother because personally, I don’t think I have much work to do on my weight.

    Not trying to lose weight here. In fact, I have been incorporating spinach (good source of folate) in my diet lately because I’m planning to get pregnant. And I love preparing healthy smoothies during snack time. I’ve already tried a number of combined fruits and veggies but your pineapple, spinach, and celery combination. Gonna try it! Nice article, by the way. Hope you can post a healthy diet for those who want to conceive.
