Does Nutribullet work ? That’s a good question!
If you have been reading any of my Smoothie Recipes in the Smoothie Corner of my Vegan World, by now you may have noticed that I have been using NutriBullet in many of my recipes. But the question is: Why do I use it? Is it because it is the only blender I have at home or does NutriBullet work for real?
I thought it would be good to have an in-depth review of this blender of mine that has become by far my most used gadget in the kitchen
Smoothies are booming, and every day there are more and more people that are joining the healthy way, trying to stay fit, losing a bit of weight, wanting to better their diet and have a better lifestyle; embracing a more vegetarian type of diet and why not…even Vegan! (YEYYY)
Anyway, the point I am trying to make is that more and more people are using blenders, and that is a well-known fact by many of the manufacturers that continue to come up, with new designs, new brands and more sophisticated type of blenders.
We have so many choices around, from glasses to bottles, you can blend fruit and once the smoothie is ready you can take it straight with you, from the blender to your bag, and you can go to work, to school or the gym. These blenders have the great advantage of being small, compact, resistant and very practical.
The NutriBullet perfectly fulfils these characteristics. With dimensions of 12 x, 9 x 13 inches and a weight of 1,39 lbs occupies a very little space in our kitchen and is very easy to transport and take with us everywhere. The High Speed and easy assembling, together with the fact that it is very easy to clean are all qualities that make it probably my favorite blender (after the Vitamix…but we are talking another price all together)….oh, yeah, of course, and the price, that is definitely another good point when you consider quality and price range. To pay 49.88 USD for a good blender I think you have a good bargain here. But let’s have a look at it first.
The NutriBullet works slightly differently than conventional cup blenders, like the Philips HR2195 / 00 Avance Collection. The big difference is that the shaking process is done upside down.
It is very easy, you must fill the glass of the blender with the desired ingredients and close it with the lid that incorporates the blades, and insert it into the base of the motor.
As for the ingredients, it is very simple, we can first add green products such as wild herbs, spinach or kale, then the different fruits and vegetables, followed by a form of liquid such as almond milk or any milk of your choice, water or ice, and finally we can enrich the Smoothie by adding superfoods such as seeds, berries, etc.
(All these steps are completely explained in the guide that comes with the NutriBullet when you purchase it).
The one thing you must keep in mind is to not overfill the blender jar, you want to keep it within the limit that it is recommended.
Once the glass has been inserted into the base of the motor, it must be turned to the right and the NutriBullet will begin to blend the ingredients. Now depending on your preference you can blend the ingredients till you get the texture desired (some people like it thicker some prefer it very thin and more liquidish)
However, remember not to blend for a very long time, since the heat that is generated when you blend can degrade the nutrients of the fruits or vegetables.
The objective is to get a nutritious and tasty smoothie with the best of nutrients and therefore a short blend duration, it is usually enough.
If you are trying to create a smoothie with more fibrous or harder ingredients, you can shake the blender a bit to favor the mixture.
Finally, you must disengage the beating glass, turn it around, see the delicious result and enjoy it.
Another positive point that distinguishes the Nutribullet and this type of Smoothie Makers, like the Ninja Personal Blender from the more conventional cup blenders is the fact that the glass/bottle is designed so that you can carry it with you without having to transfer the smoothie from one cup to a carryon cup. The Nutribullet provides a sort of All in One cup!

It falls in the range of average prices, offering a good quality/ price product.
One thing I would like to point out: if you intend to use it professionally, like in a restaurant or a bar, in that case, I would recommend a professional blender, designed specifically for that, such as the Vitamix professional blender. NutriBullet is great but it’s a home type of blender rather than a professional use type.
NutriBullet on Trial
When I first bought it I wanted to put the NutriBullet to a test, and I made plenty of different smoothies with lots of different ingredients, from soft to hard ones.
The results for fruit and vegetable smoothies are very good, considering that it is a mid-range blender. The NutriBullet takes excellent advantage of its 600 watts, and thanks to a good coupling between the blades and the base of the engine, it has no problems with most ingredients.
As for ingredients of greater difficulty, such as fibrous ingredients like pomegranate or frozen berries, the NutriBullet functions relatively well, although it does not achieve such a fine texture and may leave small remnants.
This result is also reflected in the tests I have done when grinding wild herbs.
Although the NutriBullet is capable of crushing wild herbs such as nettle or dandelion, you do get a creamy texture, which sometimes may not be perfect for what you are trying to do. For those intensive tasks, I still recommend a high-end, more professional mixer, like the Vitamix.
However, I would like to re-emphasize the fact that the Nutribullet like these types of smoothie blenders are ideal for personal uses, and they will give you a quick and easy solution when preparing healthy food on a daily basis.
Cleaning NutriBullet is a real pleasure. There are few Smoothie Makers that can be cleaned so easily and quickly. It is as simple as removing the glass from the base of the blender, unscrewing the lid with the blades and cleaning both elements under warm water. You will have it clean in a few seconds and then you simply have to let it dry (occupy very little space), or dry it with a kitchen towel, and ready.

I love Nutribullet; as a personal Smoothie Maker blender, it offers many advantages, and its multiple accessories and excellent performance make it one of the best blenders in terms of blenders for “smoothies to carry”. You can easily prepare your Smoothies and take them with you everywhere.
NutriBullet occupies very little space, is relatively light, it is also very simple to use and quick to clean, which makes it a great option.
If you are one of those people who travel often for work, are under stress or simply have limited space in the kitchen, this personal blender will become your great ally.
Where to Buy NutriBullet
I like Amazon, just because I always feel there is a guarantee behind them and in my entire life I have never ever had a problem with them. Amazon offers a great price for NutriBullet and on top (which I always take in consideration before I buy anything), on Amazon you can read more opinions and experiences different user have had with the blender.
I hope you enjoyed the review and mostly I hope you found it useful and if you have any personal experience with NutriBullet or any blender please feel free to share it in the comments below.
